The Clever Mouse

A small cat was searching for food.
For the last two days, she hadn’t eaten enough, and now she felt weak. Her usual energy and playfulness were gone.

She quietly walked into the kitchen, hoping to find a pot of milk —
but she wasn’t successful.
"Oh..." she let out a soft, sad sound.

Today, the kitchen owner had kept the milk in a safe place.
The little cat looked around with her big, hopeful eyes.

Last week, the owner had forgotten to put the milk away — and the cat had happily finished it all. It had been so tasty, she still remembered the flavour.

Thinking about it now, her mouth filled with water.

And now, her hunger had grown even more. She could barely walk properly because of weakness.
But suddenly, her eyes lit up —
She had spotted a small mouse! The small mouse had already seen the cat.
He stopped at a safe distance and said politely,
“Greetings, Cat Aunty.”

After hearing the word “Aunty” from the mouse, the cat felt a wave of anger inside
but she didn’t show it.
She didn’t want to scare away her prey.

She controlled herself and replied sweetly,
“My little friend, what’s your name? And by the way, I’m just one year old — so call me Miss Baby.”
While speaking, the cat slowly moved a little closer.

“Nice to meet you, Miss Baby! My friends call me Motu,” the mouse said cheerfully.

“Yes... you already look like your name,” Miss Baby smirked, sticking out her tongue playfully.

As she looked at Motu, her mouth filled with water.
She silently waited for the right moment to pounce.

She thought for a moment and then said,
“Motu, can you help me?”
Miss Baby spoke in a very gentle and pleading voice.

“What kind of help do you need?” Motu asked, looking curious.

Miss Baby replied in a painful voice,
“Something is stuck in my teeth. It’s making me uncomfortable… and it hurts.”
She paused, then gently added,
“Can you please help me take it out?”

Motu thought for a moment,
“If I go near her mouth, I’ll be trapped… and no one will be able to save me from Miss Baby’s jaws.”
The thought scared him.

He looked at her nervously and said,
“Miss Baby, I don’t have nails on my hands… so I’m not the best option for this.”
Motu looked at her with a worried expression.

Miss Baby understood that Motu wasn’t falling for her words.
So, she started thinking about Plan B.

She quietly gathered all the energy in her body and thought,
“I’ll have to jump on Motu…”

She slowly adjusted her position, preparing to pounce.

But Motu understood Miss Baby’s intentions very well, and he was also ready to take his next step. Miss Baby’s hunger went out of control — she couldn’t hold it back any longer.
In a flash, she jumped toward Motu.

But Motu was prepared.

He quickly moved out of the way, and Miss Baby missed her target completely.

Motu ran away, and Miss Baby collided with the wall.
Already weak from hunger, the collision left her unable to move.

She lay there, dizzy and in pain.

Motu looked back, smiled, and said,
"Miss Baby, don’t worry. I’ll send Doctor Dogu to treat your teeth… and also your injury."

After saying that, Motu ran off.

Miss Baby lay still, thinking about Motu’s words:
“If he really sends Doctor Dogu… then I won’t have any chance left.”

Realizing this, she began to gather all her remaining strength...

Despite her hunger, she forgot everything else and slowly moved toward a safe place.
