Magic Trick to Multiply Any Two-Digit Number by 11

With this magic trick, you can easily multiply any two-digit number by 11. Especially, tell your children about this magic trick. The main purpose of my blog is to remove the fear of Maths from children and create interest in Maths.

Now, let's move towards this magic trick.

1. If Both Digits of a Two-Digit Number Are the Same

Example:

22 × 11 = ?

We have to keep the unit place digit the same, which is 2.

Now add 2 to the number 22:

22 + 2 = 24

Therefore:

22 × 11 = 242

More Examples:

33 × 11 = ?

33 + 3 = 36

Answer: 33 × 11 = 363

44 × 11 = ?

44 + 4 = 48

Answer: 44 × 11 = 484

55 × 11 = ?

55 + 5 = 60

Answer: 55 × 11 = 605


2. If Both Digits of a Two-Digit Number Are Different

Example:

42 × 11 = ?

Keep the unit place digit the same, which is 2.

Now add the tens place digit to 42, which is 4.

Therefore:

42 + 4 = 46

Answer: 42 × 11 = 462

More Examples:

23 × 11 = ?

Keep 3 the same.

Add the tens place digit 2 to 23:

23 + 2 = 25

Answer: 23 × 11 = 253

54 × 11 = ?

Keep 4 the same.

Add the tens place digit 5 to 54:

54 + 5 = 59

Answer: 54 × 11 = 594

In this way, with regular practice, you can easily multiply any two-digit number by 11 mentally.
